Toyoda Gosei Rear Side Airbag is used by Subaru

AAA: Nighttime Safety improved with Pedestrian Detection effective Rates rising from 0 % to 60 %

article imageAAA evaluated vehicles equipped with pedestrian automatic emergency braking (PAEB) systems, building on findings from a study conducted in 2019. The findings reveal that nighttime PAEB impact avoidance improved from 0 % in 2019 to 60% in 2025. The team also investigated whether outfitting the pedestrian target with an ANSI Class 3 ensemble, the type of high-visibility clothing used by roadside assistance providers, affects the performance of the evaluated PAEB systems.

U.S. Pedestrian Deaths fall 11 % in first Half of 2025, according to new GHSA Research

article imageDrivers struck and killed 3,024 people walking during the first half of 2025, an average of 16 per day, according to a new data analysis from the Governors Highway Safety Association. That is an 11 % decline from the same period the year before - the largest drop since GHSA began tracking pedestrian fatalities 15 years ago.

DARTS-PL Project reaches next Stage

article imageDARTS-PL is a joint initiative of the Motor Transport Institute and the Warsaw University of Technology, aimed at creating a Polish database of scenarios for testing and developing algorithms for automated vehicles. The plan involves recording over 100 sections of road infrastructure under various environmental conditions using a set of 19 sensors (8 recordings per section: four seasons, day and night).
